Frequently Asked Questions
HELMD Drive™
Drive is a compounded sublingual tablet for erectile dysfunction. It combines three active ingredients — sildenafil, tadalafil, and apomorphine — in one tablet that dissolves under the tongue. Drive is available by prescription only, after an online medical review by a licensed provider, and is prepared for you individually by a licensed compounding pharmacy.
Drive combines three active ingredients through different mechanisms. Sildenafil and tadalafil are PDE5 inhibitors (the same class as Viagra and Cialis), while apomorphine acts on the brain's arousal pathways — a different approach. The sublingual delivery is designed to increase absorption by bypassing the digestive system. Some men who didn't respond to single-ingredient tablets find this combination works better for them, though individual results vary.
Because it dissolves under the tongue and absorbs directly into the bloodstream, many men notice effects within about 15 minutes. Individual results may vary; we recommend taking it at least 30 minutes before anticipated activity.
Effects can last up to 24–36 hours, owing to tadalafil's extended half-life. If you have liver or kidney conditions, talk to your provider, as the medication may remain active longer.
Drive is a compounded medication. Sildenafil and tadalafil are each individually FDA-approved to treat erectile dysfunction, but the specific compounded combination in Drive is not FDA-approved, and apomorphine is not FDA-approved for erectile dysfunction. Compounded medications are not reviewed by the FDA for safety or effectiveness; they are prepared by a licensed pharmacy pursuant to a valid prescription when a provider determines a compounded formulation is appropriate for you.
Drive isn't right for everyone. Do not take it if you use nitrate medications (such as nitroglycerin) or certain blood-pressure medications — the combination can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. It may also be unsuitable if you have significant heart disease, very low or uncontrolled blood pressure, severe liver or kidney conditions, or certain eye disorders such as retinitis pigmentosa. Tell your provider about all medications and conditions you have so they can decide whether Drive is safe for you. Please review the full Important Safety Information before use.
Common side effects may include headache, flushing, nasal congestion, nausea, dizziness, and mild blurred vision. These are generally mild and temporary. Seek emergency care for an erection lasting more than four hours (priapism) or any sudden change in vision or hearing. Your provider will review your medical history to determine whether Drive is appropriate for you. Please read the full Important Safety Information before use.
After you complete a short online questionnaire about your health, a licensed healthcare provider reviews your information to determine whether Drive is appropriate for you. Most people don't need a video visit; if the provider needs more information, they'll reach out. Drive is dispensed only after a provider issues a valid prescription.
Pricing varies by the plan and quantity you choose — plans range from 6 to 24 doses per month. Plans are subscriptions that renew automatically, and you can change, pause, or cancel at any time before your next order is processed. Complete the online questionnaire to see the options and pricing available to you.
Once a provider issues your prescription, your medication ships from our partner pharmacy in discreet, unmarked packaging. You'll receive tracking information when your order is on its way.
Drive's clinical protocols were designed by our medical advisory board — board-certified urologists who specialize in men's sexual health. Sildenafil and tadalafil are FDA-approved, clinically proven treatments for erectile dysfunction; apomorphine is included for its role in the brain's arousal pathways. Every formulation is reviewed by our medical advisory board before it's offered.
Drive is compounded and dispensed by a licensed, accredited U.S. compounding pharmacy. See our Provider Information page for more on how care is delivered.
